Details

The double-sided cutting board is made from a solid piece of cherry hardwood in a Rustic-Edge design. The dimensions of this cutting board are approximately 53x31x4.5 cm with a weight of around 6 kg. The dimensions given are approximate, as there may be slight variations due to the nature of the hardwood.

Rustic-Edge design means that the cutting boards in the 1887 Collection are kept as natural as possible during the final processing, with rough-cut, rustic edges and naturally occurring variations. Irregular edges, notches, and knots are characteristic of these cutting boards. Color, grain, and especially growth rings make each individual cutting board a unique piece. The cutting surface is finely sanded and, like all cutting boards from Effingham, sealed with Boos Blocks Cream Finish.

The wood in the 1887 Collection comes from the USA, from sustainably grown, renewable American hardwood. Production is very energy-efficient: compared to conventional production, a 25% lower CO2 balance was achieved and 25% less material waste was generated.
