The Kitchen Bowl – Key to Cooking Happiness

The All-Rounder in the Kitchen

If there is a true all-rounder in the vast world of cooking utensils and kitchen accessories, it is the kitchen bowl. This is where egg whites turn into meringue, ground meat becomes meatballs, and potatoes become dumplings. … this is where the magic happens! Bowls are incredibly versatile and are used daily by professional and hobby chefs alike. But they offer far more than just the function of a kitchen bowl. The bowls presented here can be used perfectly as: mixing bowls, dough bowls, baking bowls, kneading bowls, serving bowls, fruit bowls, vegetable bowls, salad bowls, picnic bowls, refrigerator bowls, storage bowls, and decorative bowls. Stainless steel bowls are also suitable for preparations in a water bath, such as melting chocolate, and for freezing in the freezer.

As with all of our equipment, at Butch we value high quality, excellent product features, comfortable handling, and great aesthetics. These are also the reasons why we exclusively focus on materials such as stainless steel and enamel from brand manufacturers when it comes to bowls, as these products meet all of our expectations.

The stainless steel bowl

In gastronomy, you will almost exclusively find stainless steel bowls in the kitchen. Why? Because these bowls are almost indestructible. They are unbreakable, robust, and yet relatively light. Stainless steel is aroma-neutral and food-safe, meaning it has no odor or taste effect on food and does not absorb their flavors. It is also resistant to unsightly discoloration. Fine material abrasion, as can occur with plastic bowls, is not to be feared here. Stainless steel bowls are easy to clean because they are suitable for the dishwasher. The stainless steel used by our manufacturers is, of course, rust-free.
If you want to whip cream, it is recommended to cool the bowl briefly in the refrigerator or freezer beforehand. Conversely, you can also put the stainless steel bowl in the oven, for example, with yeast dough. At 50°C, your dough will rise optimally.
At Butch-Shop, you will find stainless steel bowls - in all sizes and various shapes - from our brand manufacturers de Buyer, All Clad, Rösle, and Küchenprofi.

The Enamel Bowl

We believe that enamel material always carries a little bit of the magic of nostalgia. Enamel cookware reminds us of the good old days, of grandma's milk pot, of the roasting pan in which the Sunday roast simmered and smelled seductively, and of the big soup pot on the stove with the potato soup... It makes us reminisce. Modern enamel from the Austrian brand Riess still has this wonderful retro look, but convinces with contemporary inner values: Riess enamel bowls are food-neutral due to their pore-free, smooth surface, extremely cut- and scratch-resistant, and very durable. They are also heat-resistant up to 450°C, making them absolutely oven-safe. Riess enamel can be cleaned in the dishwasher with the glass wash program setting. However, the manufacturer and we recommend gentle hand cleaning to maintain the beautiful shine of these products.
In the shop, there is a large selection of enamel bowls in different colors, shapes, and sizes. One special feature is the so-called "Weitling". This shape has a long tradition in Austria. As the name suggests, this bowl shape has a large, wide opening and two handles, so you can safely carry heavy dough back and forth in the kitchen. Large Weitlings are great as decorative fruit bowls and serving bowls for salads and side dishes. The small ones are suitable as cereal bowls or soup bowls. Your imagination knows no bounds.

Sizes, Shapes, and Accessories

As the uses for kitchen bowls are so diverse, we offer a very large selection of different sizes and shapes. There is a difference between needing several small bowls because you are chopping and preparing different ingredients, or needing a large bowl for kneading dough. Some prefer conical-shaped bowls, while others prefer the hemispherical shape. There are bowls with a pouring spout that makes it easier to pour liquid or semi-liquid contents, and there are kitchen bowls with a flared rim that are easy to grip. Some models, such as the round Patisserie bowls from our professional brand de Buyer, have a measuring scale on the inside, even in different units (Ltr, ml, Cups & Oz). Another advantage of these bowls is the silicone-coated bottom, which prevents slipping while working, even on wet surfaces.
Rösle offers fresh-keeping lids in various diameters made of shatterproof glass with a silicone edge that fits its stainless steel bowls. This is enormously practical for storing leftovers, and of course for use as a party or picnic bowl. These lids are available separately as accessories in our shop.

Fascinating, isn't it, all the interesting things there are to say about bowls? We are confessing fans of Wikipedia, but in this case it's 1:0 for Butch, because on Wikipedia it says only: Quote (*) "A bowl is a usually deep, round-bellied vessel with or without a lid, used for serving, serving or storing food. A small bowl without a lid is a bowl. Regardless of its intended use, a bowl is a shallower and wider bowl." Very pragmatic. We are a bit more passionate about it, because after all, the bowl is the place in the kitchen "where magic happens" …
