These handles are turned in the Sauerland, finished in Solingen, and the functional parts made of stainless steel are also assembled here.

From HILL to triangle
The company history of the triangle brand dates back to 1946, when Erwin Hill founded the "Hill Metallfabrikation" in the knife city of Solingen. The family business produces so-called wheel snow beaters, and even back then, sustainability was a key factor in production. Hill products are characterized by high functionality, very good, solid quality, and their timeless design. These guiding principles still shape the brand philosophy of the company today.
In 1972, Peter Kelch, the son-in-law of Erwin Hill, took over the business together with his wife Ursula. In the 1980s, products from Hill, such as mezzalunas and grill skewers, were in high demand. The boom enabled Hill Metallwaren GmbH to purchase a larger production facility on Friedenstraße in Solingen, where the company is still headquartered today.
Peter Kelch's daughter Christine joined the company's management in 2005. Under her leadership, the brand "triangle" was created, which has stood for professional kitchen tools "made in Germany" since its introduction. triangle tools focus on the needs of professional and hobby chefs in product development and also follow the trends of the food industry. This results in the brand's successful product strategy: it relies on classics and basics like peelers and ballers, while also introducing innovative kitchen tools like the tasting spoon with tweezers for food art & carving or the ingenious aroma grater.
Made in Germany
The company places great importance on the Solingen location. triangle tools is proud of its origins and sees itself as part of a region rich in tradition, renowned for its craftsmanship and the quality of its products for centuries. Large parts of the triangle range are still manufactured in the blade city of Solingen.
Where production in Germany is not possible, triangle tools claims to maintain close, long-standing contact with its suppliers and is committed to ensuring that people and the environment are well cared for within the production chain.
FSC® Certification
triangle was FSC® certified in 2021. FSC® – Forest Stewardship Council® – stands for global commitment to sustainable and socially responsible forestry and an international certification system. Where possible, triangle tools will now offer FSC®-certified woods in the future.
Good Design
From the first idea to the finished product, it is a long journey. Every single step from design to series production must be carried out with care to create products that do exactly what they are intended for. This requires a lot of experience, know-how, and at the same time innovative and solution-oriented thinking. Therefore, triangle places great importance on ensuring that product development takes place in-house in Solingen, in close dialogue with production.
A design principle of triangle states that the design of functional products should not be subject to short-lived fashion. "Form follows function," and this form should still be pleasing and perceived as aesthetic even after many years. Many triangle bestsellers do not show their age. Perhaps also because the brand develops its products together with renowned German designers and has already won some coveted design awards.
Collections & Handle Series
The products of triangle tools usually receive their series name based on their respective handle variant. Example: The turner "Classic Wood" has a handle made of cherry wood and belongs to the collection of the same name.
PROFESSIONAL
The handle of the "Professional" series is made of PA plastic, a robust, glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide. It offers a secure grip during work and is designed for professional use. These products are dishwasher safe.
SPIRIT
The handles of the "Spirit" series were previously made of PP plastic. From 2021, almost all handles are made from a sustainable, plant-based plastic called GreenGrip®. The symmetrical handle shape is found in kitchen helpers and palettes, while the asymmetrical shape is used for knife handles. The modern, simple design and suitability for the dishwasher make the "Spirit" collection particularly appreciated in the gastronomy sector. GreenGrip® plastics are in no way inferior to the predecessor material PP in terms of food safety, feel, durability, and dishwasher suitability. Practical detail: The handles of the "Spirit" kitchen helpers have a small triangular cutout at the end, allowing them to be conveniently hung on wall rails.
MOOD
With "Mood," the Solingen family business has developed a classic-contemporary series of kitchen helpers, manufactured in German craftsmanship with a high standard of functionality, quality, and sustainability. For the "Mood" handles, cherry wood from regional orchards is used. Triangle thus supports sustainable forestry with short transport routes. These handles are turned in the Sauerland and then finally processed in Solingen, where they are also assembled with the stainless steel functional parts. The "Mood" series should be gently cleaned by hand.
SENSE
"Sense" is an elegant, modern series with handles made of German plum wood. The aesthetic handle shape not only looks good, but the characteristic design also ensures a good and secure grip during work. "Sense" kitchen helpers are manufactured in Solingen. The manufacturing process of these tools still largely involves handcrafting. "Sense" should be gently cleaned by hand.
SOUL
Aesthetes and purists will truly enjoy the triangle tools "Soul." A "Soul" handle feels extremely pleasant, as if you are holding a noble hand flatterer rather than a kitchen helper. The short, wide shape of the handle is not only a distinctive feature, but it also ensures optimal power transmission during work. All products of the "Soul" series are "made in Solingen." The simple yet ergonomic design of the handles and the use of noble fruit and walnut woods underline the value of this collection. German hardwoods such as plum, cherry, walnut, and core ash are available. To preserve the beauty of these woods, gentle hand cleaning is recommended.
1946
The "1946" series includes kitchen helpers that hobby and professional chefs use constantly. Due to their massive material thickness made of brushed 18/10 stainless steel, they are virtually indestructible and withstand even the high demands of gastronomy. The "1946" cooking spoons and turners impress with timeless optics and the highest professionalism. They are ergonomically shaped, sauce ladles and soup ladles pour without dripping, and the skimmers are available with either fine or extra-large drainage openings. Thus, the "1946" collection represents the core values of the brand: quality, functionality & sustainability. The name of the series is a tribute to the company's founder Erwin Hill, who laid the foundation for triangle in 1946.
CARVER
Since the range of carving knives is a small special series, it is listed at the end of our enumeration. The handles of the triangle Carver are made from a combination of high-quality polypropylene and grippy Santoprene (Softgrip). This material combination ensures a secure grip even with wet hands and allows for ergonomic work.
