Blockwork monolith beachcomber magnetic knife block - oak wood with steel base

The Blockwerk Monolith Strandgut is a magnetic knife block that can hold up to 4 knives.

Technically, the Monolith Strandgut block is identical to the regular Monolith block. It features a solid oak body with an engraved Blockwerk logo, measuring 10 x 10 x 23 cm, and a heavy steel base measuring 12.5 x 12.5 x 2.5 cm. However, the Strandgut version is hand-treated to give the wooden body the appearance of driftwood, with wood chipped away from the edges. The base is also treated to give it an antique finish that complements the body. As the base is untreated, it may develop surface rust, which can be easily removed with a sponge or prevented by oiling the base from time to time.

The body can rotate 360 degrees and features embedded magnets that securely hold up to 4 knives with a maximum blade length of 23 cm, depending on the knife's design. To ensure a proper fit, measure the length from the tip of the blade to the bolster (the transition from the blade to the handle). The knives are easily accessible and can be removed with one hand. This is not always the case with other knife blocks.

The block's weight of approximately 4.5 kg and non-slip coating on the base make it almost impossible to tip or slide on a countertop, assuming normal use. The total height of this masterpiece, including the base, is 26.5 cm.

Each Monolith Strandgut knife block is carefully handmade, processed, and delivered in a wooden gift box. The wooden body is additionally protected by a matching linen bag. As the grain and treatment of each block vary, the delivered block may differ from the image, making each block a true one-of-a-kind.
