If you want to maintain the initial sharpness of your Nesmuk knives on your own, we recommend the Nesmuk stropping belt. It is a very efficient tool that can restore the razor-sharp edge in just two minutes.
The four-sided Nesmuk stropping belt has a body made of oak wood. This body is enclosed in leather, into which diamond paste of different grain sizes has been massaged, not just applied.
The sharpening process works as follows:
Start with the coarse side (20 µm) and place the blade at an angle of about 15-20 degrees at the bottom of the stropping belt. Now pull the blade up over the leather. The fine diamond dust removes any nicks and rounding. After this pull, lift the knife, turn it, and pull the blade down over the leather. Three such pulls on both sides are sufficient.
Repeat this process with the medium side (5 µm), then the fine side (1 µm), and finally with the side (without diamond) to polish the blade.
The sides are labeled so you can keep track. It's not complicated, but simple and efficient without the hassle of a sharpening stone. Feel free to use it often.
