A series, three blade variations

The Nesmuk Exclusive series includes three different blade variations, named C 150, C 100, and C 90. The difference lies in the number of layers of Damascus steel and the carbon content. These factors are crucial for achieving sharpness and durability.

Exclusive C 90 with 210 layers of Damascus steel

The perfect introduction to the fascinating world of real Damascus knives is the Nesmuk Exclusive C 90 series. The blades are made of 210 layers of hand-forged Damascus steel with a carbon content of 0.9% and a hardness of +/- 62 HRC. The single-sided hollow grind provides precise guidance and outstanding cutting properties. It is the lightest knife in the Exclusive series. The only downside: The Exclusive C 90 series is only available as a chef's knife.

Exclusive C 100 with up to 240 layers of Damascus steel

The blades of the Nesmuk Exclusive C 100 series are made of up to 240 layers of hand-forged Damascus steel. With a carbon content of approximately 1.0%, the blades have a hardness of +/- 63 HRC. The double-sided hollow grind also prevents food from sticking to the blade. In the Exclusive C 100 series, you will find chef's knives with an 18 cm blade length made of 240 layers of Damascus steel and slicers with a 16 cm blade length made of 120 layers of Damascus steel.

Exclusive C 150 with up to 401 layers of Damascus steel

The Exclusive C 150 series is the Champions League, the masterpiece, simply WOW! 400 layers of Damascus steel forged around a cutting layer of pure carbon steel, all done by hand. Up to four dozen work steps (!) are necessary to produce these truly exclusive knives. The carbon content is 1.5% (!) and gives the blades a sharpness level of +/- 65 HRC (!). The black cutting layer is beautifully highlighted by the double-sided hollow grind and also reduces food sticking. The Exclusive C 150 series also offers both types of knives: the 18 cm blade length chef's knife made of 401 layers of Damascus steel and the 16 cm blade length slicer made of 201 layers of Damascus steel.

Blade protection thanks to Nesmuk Protective Coating

When forging Damascus, rust-free stainless steels cannot be used because they do not have the quality and necessary properties of traditional carbon steels. Therefore, real Damascus knives are susceptible to rust and require some care. Together with the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Chemical Technology, a permanent coating called Nesmuk Protective Coating (NPC) has been applied to the Damascus surface. The silicon layer, which is only a few micrometers thick, preserves the precious blades for decades. All Damascus blades of the Exclusive series are protected by the Protective Coating. However, the cutting edge of the blade is not coated, as the NPC layer is worn off by sharpening the knife, for example. Therefore, after cleaning, you should dry the blade well (as with any other knife).

Handles made of precious woods and high-tech plastics

After choosing a knife, the selection of handles is now up to you. And there is certainly something to your taste. Various precious woods such as olive, fossilized bog oak, Makassar ebony, grenadilla, Karelian masur birch, zebrano, and walnut masur are available. These are complemented by handles made of high-tech plastics Juma and Micarta. All handles perfectly adapt to the knives due to their ergonomic shaping. The knife bolster, the transition between blade and handle, made of highly polished stainless steel, is precisely integrated into the knife handle.

Each knife is unique

The fine lines of the grain on each blade, created by the final etching of the steel, vary each time. Combined with the different colors and textures of the handles, they create unique pieces. No knife is the same. Each knife is a true one-of-a-kind.
