Skeppshult Noir

Skeppshult »Noir« - the cast iron series with black anodized aluminum handles

A clear, simple form, reduced to the essentials. Black anodized aluminum, combined with solid black cast iron. The lids of the pots, pans, and roasters are also made of cast iron. Very pure, very aesthetic. This is Skeppshult »Noir«, designed by Broberg & Ridderstråle. The Swedish creative studio is responsible for the stylish profile and functional design of this collection. Mats Broberg and Johan Ridderstråle have paid special attention to the detail of the "handle" on the pans: It is made of black anodized aluminum. Anodizing creates a protective layer on the aluminum through an electrochemical process. This makes the material harder and more resistant. The structure of the pan handle also ensures a pleasant feel and a secure grip, even with wet hands, when you grab the heavy cast iron pan by the handle.

There is also a difference in the manufacturing process compared to other ranges: The »Noir« series undergoes a special finish at the factory. In a complex process, the items are triple-seasoned with organic rapeseed oil.

The pan bottoms of the Skeppshult items are slightly concave (inwardly) curved. This minimal curvature is precision-milled and is a quality feature of these cast iron products: When the metal is heated on the stove, it expands, and the pan stands flat and securely on the stove.

Frequently Asked Questions about Skeppshult Noir

What makes the Skeppshult Noir series special?

The Skeppshult Noir series stands out with its timeless design and high-quality craftsmanship. The cast iron pans are triple seasoned, providing an excellent feel. Additionally, the concave bottom remains stable on the stove even when heated.

What are the advantages of cast iron in the kitchen?

Cast iron retains heat excellently and distributes it evenly. This keeps meat and vegetables juicy and gives them a crispy crust. Additionally, cast iron releases natural iron, which supports iron intake.

How do I properly care for my Skeppshult Noir pan?

After cooking, a paper towel is often sufficient for cleaning. For stubborn dirt, a steel wool pad can help. Avoid dish soap and dishwashers. Dry the pan thoroughly after cleaning to prevent rust formation.

For which types of stoves are the Skeppshult Noir pans suitable?

The pans are suitable for all types of stoves, including induction. The special bottom prevents scratches on the stove surface, as cast iron is softer than glass or ceramic.

How long does it take for a Skeppshult Noir pan to be ready for use?

The pans are ready for use immediately. It is recommended to rinse them briefly with hot water before first use. Seasoning is not necessary as the black patina is already present.
