The heart of the mill is the precise steel grinding mechanism, specifically designed for dry salt. By turning the head screw you can adjust the grind to your preference: tightening produces finer salt, loosening yields coarser grains. For optimal results, it is recommended to use dry salt crystals up to 4 mm in diameter. Please note that the mill is not suitable for damp sea salt.

Refilling is very easy: unscrew the mill head, pour in the salt, and replace the head. An "S" on the head screw additionally identifies the mill as a salt mill.
