Stainless with d5 technology was specifically designed to meet the requirements of the latest generation of professional induction cooktops, which have a power of up to 10KW per induction coil. Such enormous power and the associated extreme temperature increases in the cooking tool require exceptional torsional rigidity to prevent deformation of the cooking tool and ensure harmonious heat distribution. This is achieved by a stainless steel core in the middle of the two aluminum layers, which acts as a heat blocker and slows down the temperature increase. d5 makes sense on induction and gas cooktops with very high power; on household cooktops, this construction is not necessary due to the low power. On the contrary, the Stainless series with three-layer construction is more advantageous here, as it heats up faster and saves time. Therefore, we recommend our Stainless and Copper-Core series for household cooktops of all types (electric, ceramic, gas, and induction). Only on induction cooktops with 4KW or more per coil is the Stainless d5 series recommended.
