The blade is made from 72-layer Damascus steel, created by combining two high-quality steels – the flexible and resilient VG-2 steel and the particularly hard VG-10 steel. This dual-core process gives the blade a hardness of 61±1 HRC and provides exceptional sharpness and long-lasting edge retention. The radiating Damascus pattern on the highly polished blade emphasizes the knife’s elegant appearance.

The ergonomically shaped handle made of black pakkawood sits comfortably in the hand and allows for fatigue-free work. The riveted handle scales made of impregnated wood veneer are particularly durable and give the knife additional stability. A full tang provides optimal balance and supports precise cutting.

Whether you are cutting fine julienne strips of vegetables, preparing delicate fish fillets or portioning meat – the KAI Shun Nagare Black Santoku enables precise and effortless cuts.
