Details

The Janus office knife features a 9 cm long blade made of a special steel, coated with a Diamond-Like-Carbon (DLC) coating, and is a small all-purpose knife. The steel alloy of the blade includes the rare element niobium. This high niobium content achieves the finest possible steel structure despite rust resistance, resulting in extremely high strength, durability, and edge retention. Additionally, the blade is coated with a few micrometers thick, yet extremely hard DLC coating. This matte black carbon layer is resistant to acids, high temperatures, and extremely scratch-resistant. A great side effect: the blade glides more easily through the cutting material because the coating has very low friction values. With a hardness of approximately 60 HRC, the DLC coating, the flat grind, and the thin tip, the office knife is more than well-equipped for extremely precise cuts. All preparation, cooking, and decorating tasks are now a real pleasure.

The massive and seamless handle in this variant is made of walnut burl wood. The valuable wood of the rare burl grows mainly in Central and Southern Europe. The heavy and hard wood impresses with a fine dark to golden-brown grain. Walnut burl is one of the most sought-after and expensive European woods. The transition between the blade and handle is adorned with a ferrule made of matte brushed stainless steel.

The Janus office knife is delivered in a high-quality matte black box with the Nesmuk certificate of authenticity.
