Wider grating surfaces, rubber foot and soft-touch handle
The graters of the Microplane Gourmet Series are an extension of the Microplane Premium Classic Zester. They are equipped with wider grating surfaces and offer various blades. The grating surfaces are firmly welded to a stainless steel frame and slightly curved, resulting in even better and more precise grating results. The Gourmet graters are rounded off with a non-slip rubber foot and a soft-touch handle that is also non-slip.
Often imitated, never duplicated – the photo-etching manufacturing process
Of course, the blades of the Microplane Gourmet Series are also manufactured using the patented photo-etching process. In short, extremely sharp, one-sided cutting edges are etched out with an iron chloride solution. Then, the teeth are raised at a perfect cutting angle. The advantage over stamped or double-sided blades is that the Microplane blades behave like small knives. No tearing, no crushing, just precise cutting of food. The grated material glides smoothly over the grating surface without sticking to the cutting edges.
10 blades to choose from
The Microplane Gourmet Series offers a wide selection of different blades. From very fine to coarse, with special graters like the star blade, you can create a fluffy, snow-like grating result, while the 2-way grater gives you fine shreds or wedges. You can grate very fine slices for truffles, for example, with the large rasp, and the vegetable slicer produces 2 mm thick slices. In addition, there are two different julienne graters: very fine or 2x4 mm thick.
