de Buyer Affinity Stainless Steel Cookware

de Buyer Affinity

The Affinity series by de Buyer is the super sports car among stainless steel pots. Real sports cars excel with two core virtues: breathtaking acceleration and precise steering. And precision is one of the magic words for professional cooking.

Ultra-Reactive

De Buyer calls it Ultra-Reactive. The Affinity series heats up unusually quickly and allows for precise cooking and simmering. Temperature changes are immediately transferred to the inside of the pot. You have full control, protect vitamins and flavors, and save energy. Design, function, and finish go hand in hand - with only the perfect cooking result in focus.

Design from a Single Piece

The Affinity series is designed from a single piece. The result is very harmonious and subtly elegant. Gentle curves, sophisticated lines, generous dimensions, ergonomic fittings made of stainless steel, polished finish. The perfect symmetry ensures deformation resistance, even with temperature fluctuations. The selection and effort in material choice are unparalleled. A composition of 7 layers of aluminum and stainless steel ensures perfect heat distribution and prevents localized overheating. And for those of you who love details, we are happy to explain the exact structure from the inside out:
1. stainless 18/10 steel, robust and resistant. There is no reaction with food, even if stored in the pots for a longer time.
2 - 4 are a combination of aluminum with aluminum alloys and ensure rapid heating and even heat distribution.
5. again 18/10 stainless steel to prevent oxidation with the
6. layer of magnetic sheet steel. Thanks to the use of sheet steel, the strength of the induction is fully utilized
7. layer once again made of 18/10 stainless steel, this time highly polished. This not only gives the products timeless elegance but also makes cleaning easier.
Due to this special construction, the heat is conducted not only from the bottom into the pot but also from the side walls up to the top edge.

Pouring Rim for Drip-Free Pouring

The pots, saucepans, and sauté pans feature a semi-rolled pouring rim. This allows liquids to be poured out without dripping. In the case of pans, this is ensured by a beveled edge.

Ergonomically Shaped Handles Made of Cast Stainless Steel

Cast stainless steel was chosen as the material for the riveted handles and stick handles. As a heat conductor, it is a rather poor material, but optimal for the handles. The ergonomic shape supports the natural grip posture. Generous dimensions prevent the handles from overheating and ensure sufficient safety distance from the body.

Lid with Condensation Return

Not only the cookware itself, but also the lids are a special feature. Made of stainless steel, they have a centrally arranged recess. This recess has two functions. On the one hand, there is enough distance between the handle and the hot lid to protect against scalding. On the other hand, the condensation collects at the curvature in the pot and is quickly returned to the interior of the pot. This reduces the evaporation of liquid. This can even be supported by water or ice cubes on the lid.

Suitable for All Types of Stoves Including Induction

Affinity is well-equipped for any heat source - especially for induction cooktops. The cookware is oven-safe (the coated pan up to 260 ̊ degrees Celsius), easy to clean, and dishwasher safe.

Important Usage Instructions

As with all cookware made from highly conductive materials, we ask you to keep a few points in mind:
- Never heat the cookware empty. Overheating can cause the bottom to warp.
- Use moderate settings for frying, sautéing, and similar tasks, as the cookware heats up quite quickly and reaches high temperatures. Gradually get used to the heat development. This will save you from burnt food and prevent overheating.
- Use the turbo or booster function on induction stoves only for heating larger quantities of liquid. This function is intended for that purpose, but not for frying.
- Add salt only when the water has already warmed up and stir well. Otherwise, the salt will burn into the bottom, and white spots or even corrosion may occur. Although this does not affect the cooking properties, it does not look nice.

Wide Range of Products

The range of the Affinity series leaves little to be desired. It includes pots, saucepans, sauté pans, a roasting pan, a wok, as well as pans with and without non-stick coating. Each type is available in different sizes and sometimes in different shapes.

The Affinity series by de Buyer impressively shows how cookware should look and function, no, must. Butch promises: Once cooked with it, and you're enchanted!
