Güde Alpha Barrel Oak Bread Knife 21 cm - CVM Steel - Handle Scales Wine Barrel Oak Wood
If a bread slicing machine takes up too much space or you simply enjoy slicing bread by hand, then you should definitely add the Güde bread knife to your selection of knives. After all, Franz Güde is the inventor of the serrated edge.
With the Alpha Oak Barrel bread knife and its 21 cm long blade, you can slice any bread, whether it has a hard or soft crust, into even slices. The single-sided hand-sharpened blade with the famous Güde serrated edge made of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel makes bread slicing machines appear unnecessary.
Güde knives are hand-forged from a single piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, from the tip of the blade to the double bolster. The double bolster, a special feature of Güde knives, provides a counterweight to the blade. The knife is perfectly balanced. The special steel blend and the elaborate manufacturing process with over 30 manual steps give the rust-free blades with a hardness of approximately 58 HRC a special robustness and durability.
The finely polished handle scales made of oak wood from wine barrels over 80 years old, called stave wood, are embedded in the steel and triple-riveted. Due to the long aging process, the coarse-textured wood is extremely hard and almost indestructible. The Alpha Oak Barrel series was created in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Harald Rüssel and his wife Ruth. Harald Rüssel's signature can be found as a laser engraving on each blade.
