Güde Alpha Oak Tomato Knife 13 cm with serrated edge - CVM steel - handle scales made of wine barrel oak wood
The tomato knife is a paring and garnishing knife with a fine serrated edge. It makes cutting ripe, soft vegetables and fruits like tomatoes easy, especially if you don't have a well-sharpened knife on hand.
The Alpha Oak Barrel Tomato Knife has a 13 cm long, narrow, and pointed blade made of rust-free and hand-sharpened chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel. Additionally, a fine serrated edge is ground into one side of the blade.
Güde knives are hand-forged from a single piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, from the tip of the blade to the double bolster. The double bolster, a unique feature of Güde knives, provides a counterbalance to the blade. The knife is perfectly balanced. The special steel blend and the elaborate manufacturing process involving over 30 manual steps give the rust-free blades with a hardness of approximately 58 HRC exceptional robustness and durability.
The finely polished handle scales made of oak wood from wine barrels over 80 years old, called stave wood, are embedded in the steel and triple-riveted. Due to the long aging process, the coarse-textured wood is extremely hard and virtually indestructible. The Alpha Oak Barrel series was created in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Harald Rüssel and his wife Ruth. Harald Rüssel's signature is laser-engraved on each blade.
