Güde Alpha Barrel Oak Vegetable Knife 9 cm - CVM Steel - Handle Scales Wine Barrel Oak Wood
Cutting vegetables and fruit can be enjoyable. Okay, not for everyone. But the joy of the result is usually even greater. And with a decent vegetable knife, it's not such a big ordeal.
The Alpha Barrel Oak vegetable knife has a 9 cm long, almost straight blade made of rust-free and hand-ground chrome-vanadium-molybdenum knife steel. So it's perfect for all those precise fine work where long blades are too long.
Güde knives are hand-forged from a single piece of chrome-vanadium-molybdenum steel, from the tip of the blade to the double bolster. The double bolster, a special feature of Güde knives, provides a counterweight to the blade. The knife is perfectly balanced. The special blend of steel and the elaborate manufacturing process with over 30 manual steps give the rust-free blades with a hardness of about 58 HRC a special robustness and durability.
The finely polished handle scales made of oak wood from over 80-year-old wine barrels, called barrel staves, are embedded in the steel and triple-riveted. Due to the long maturation, the coarse-structured wood is extremely hard and almost indestructible. The Alpha Barrel Oak series was created in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Harald Rüssel and his wife Ruth. Harald Rüssel's signature can be found as a laser engraving on each blade.
